Child Care Resource and Referral

The NDE Early Childhood Training Center (ECTC) is designated by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Child Care Services, as the statewide coordinator of child care resource and referral. In that capacity, the ECTC holds membership in the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA). The ECTC also works with other agencies within the state that offer child care resource and referral to extend access of these services to families.

The Nebraska Child Care Referral Network

The Nebraska Child Care Referral Network is a newly launched website that can help working parents — particularly those working in critical jobs related to healthcare, emergency response and similar roles — to find child care in their area for children from birth to age 12. The website allows parents to use their computer, tablet or smartphone to search for providers based on a range of criteria including:

  • Type of child care environment
  • Type of child care license
  • Ages of children needing care
  • Geographical distance
  • Does/does not accept subsidy
  • Step Up to Quality participation
