School Mental Health 2021-2022 Webinar Series

A Training Series Focusing on Mental Health in Schools

The Nebraska Department of Education’s Office of Coordinated Student Services is excited to announce that registration is now open for the

2021-2022 Webinar Series focusing on Mental Health in Schools.

Trainings will be held the third Tuesday of the month from 4-5 p.m. Central Time through the 2021-2022 school year (no training in December).

Trainings will be recording and housed on the NDE School Mental Health Training Resources page.


Trauma Sensitive Schools, Part 1

September 21, 2021 – 4-5 p.m. Central Time

Dr. Susan Lindblad from Hastings Public Schools and Sarah Shanahan from Heartland Counseling Services in South Sioux City

will present on trauma and the various types of traumas and how trauma impacts mental health and learning.


Trauma Sensitive Schools, Part 2

October 19, 2021 – 4-5 p.m. Central Time

Dr. Susan Lindblad from Hastings Public Schools and Sarah Shanahan from Heartland Counseling Services in South Sioux City

will train on how to create a trauma-sensitive classroom/building and how to help students who may have experienced trauma.
