About the Programs

EDUCATOR PREPARATION PROGRAM INFORMATION

There are sixteen (16) approved educator preparation programs in Nebraska. All Nebraska institutions must successfully complete the state approval process for these programs. Additionally, many of these institutions have achieved national accreditation through the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

All sixteen (16) institutions in Nebraska that prepare teachers are members of the Nebraska Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (NACTE). The Nebraska Council on Teacher Education (NCTE), serving as an advisory body to the State Board of Education, also includes representation from these institutions. NCTE is composed of equal representation from educators, administrators of educator preparation programs, and governance representatives. Together, they collaborate to ensure high standards for educator preparation in Nebraska and to promote quality education for PreK-12 students across the state.
