Nebraska GED Test Retake Policy

According to current rule, there is a mandatory waiting period of thirty days between retakes for failed exams, however a waiver may be granted to those Nebraska residents wanting to schedule a retake earlier than thirty days.

The test taker may request a waiver for the thirty-day waiting period by submitting a written request via email to: tate.lauer@nebraska.gov  Requests for waiting period waivers from anyone other than the test taker will not be granted.

Email must include:  the name of the test taker as listed on their GED.com account, date of birth, test subject and last date of test for that subject.

With an approved waiver, there will be no waiting period for each of the first two retakes. A separate email must be submitted for each waiting period waiver request.

After taking a test subject three times, there is a mandatory sixty-day waiting period before retesting in that same subject. No exceptions.
