Master Teacher

In support of Nebraska teachers who have achieved the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) credential and to those who aspire to become a National Board Certified Teacher, the 2015 Nebraska Legislature authorized funding for the Master Teacher Program.  The program provided for NBPTS registration fee reimbursement and an annual salary bonus for Nebraska teachers holding the NBPTS credential. Funding for the Nebraska Master Teacher Program was eliminated during the 2017 legislative session.

We extend our best wishes to those who are in progress toward completing the National Board process and who will join 120+ Nebraska teaching colleagues who have attained this high level of excellence.

Although financial support for the Master Teacher was eliminated, Nebraska NBPTS teachers will continue to qualify for the Professional Teaching Certificate. For more information, contact the Nebraska Teacher Certification Office, .
