National Association for Gifted Children Awards & Scholarships

A long-standing tradition at NAGC is recognizing those who make valuable contributions to the field of gifted and talented education. Numerous awards and scholarships are presented annually. Each award and scholarship has its own application process, deadlines, and review criteria.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation (JKC) is dedicated to ensuring high-performing; low-income students have the support necessary to develop their skills. To learn more about scholarships, counseling and other support services for students in grade seven to graduate school, visit JKC to learn more.

The Mensa Foundation Awards & Scholarships

The Mensa Foundation has presents annual awards, fellowships, and educational grants to individuals around the world. Some awards are specifically for Mensa members who contribute to the Foundation’s mission, but others recognize the advancement of knowledge and education without membership requirements. Available to educators and students.

National Merit Scholarship

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition among high school students for recognition and college undergraduate scholarships. United States high school students enter the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which serves as an initial screen of over 1.3 million entrants each year, and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements.

Jacob K. Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Program

The purpose of the Javits Act is to orchestrate a coordinated program of scientifically based research, demonstration projects, innovative strategies, and similar activities that build and enhance the ability of elementary and secondary schools to meet the special educational needs of gifted and talented students. The Javits Act focuses resources on identifying and serving students who are traditionally underrepresented in gifted and talented programs, particularly historically marginalized, economically disadvantaged, English learners, and students with disabilities, to help reduce gaps in achievement and to encourage the establishment of equal educational opportunities for all students.
