The 2023 conference theme is
GetConnected: Come Play.
The GetConnected 2023 Nebraska Afterschool Conference provides an opportunity to learn more about planning and implementing a quality afterschool or summer program. Sessions offered throughout the day target a variety of audiences including program leaders, program staff, teachers, school administrators, community partners, and others interested in afterschool and summer learning opportunities for children and youth.

Silva Raker
Silva Raker is Kiewit Luminarium’s inaugural CEO. An accomplished senior executive and former field biologist, she has successfully developed vibrant, mission-based enterprise and talented teams for the educational nonprofit, specialty retail, and travel sectors. Prior to her relocation to Omaha in August 2021, Silva served as Senior Business Director of Global Collaborations for the Exploratorium and held senior positions at The Nature Company and Backroads, Inc. She has a degree in Zoology from University of California at Berkeley.

There are two options to join the conference.
In-person conference registration ($90) includes:
- Access to over 35 conference break-out sessions
- Opportunity to network with representatives of over 25 community organizations who will share resources available statewide to support your programs
- Receive the book, Why Play Works: Big Changes Start Small by Jill Vialet
- Access to recorded presentations that can be viewed at your convenience after the conference
- Personalized business cards to use as you network with community organizations and afterschool educators
- Breakfast, lunch, and door prizes.
Virtual registration ($45) includes:
- Access to up to 24 virtual break-out sessions
- Participate in six live-streamed sessions throughout the day of the conference including opening and lunch plenary sessions
- Access to recorded presentations that can be viewed at your convenience after the conference
- Technical support available throughout the day of the conference

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Omaha (1001 Cass Street) for the evenings of September 20-21. The hotel is directly connected via sky bridge to the CHI Health Event Center and less than a mile from the Old Market Entertainment District. The discounted group room rate is $142 (single or double), $152 (triple), $162 (quad). The overnight parking rate for GetConnected hotel guests will be discounted to $11.00/night.
