Welcome to the webpage for NDE Public Input Drafts of Rules and Regulations. The Department is implementing a new process to increase public engagement in the adoption, revision, and repeal of our administrative rules. We are posting public input drafts to this website and requesting comments before finalizing official hearing drafts. This will allow an opportunity to analyze and potentially address concerns earlier in the process.
The comment period for the Rule 21 (Regulations for the Issuance of Certificates and Permits to Teach, Provide Special Services, and Administer in Nebraska Schools) and Rule 24 (Regulations for Certificate Endorsements) public input drafts is currently open. The comment period begins on Friday, August 16, 2024, and ends at the end of the day on Friday, September 13, 2024.
