Data Steward Committee
The objective of Data Steward Committee Charter is to outline the functions of Data Steward Committee (DSC) and their involvement in events like District ADVISER Group, Workdays, and Virtual Data Conference. The entire run down of these events will be systematically discussed and process will be mentioned in different sections in this document. This document will also focus on outlining functions and regular engagement of the committee members and systematically establishing data stewardship while managing data in Nebraska Department of Education (NDE).
Committees' Functions
Functions of Data Steward Committee involves establishing understanding and effective use of data at the ground level. Managing incoming data from various sources and guaranteeing the quality of the data gathered, data stored, and data used by the organization fall under the Data Steward Committee. Other functions of this Committee will include:
- Executing the policies and standards established by the data governance program.
- Ensuring access to the right data by the right users at the right time based on whether information is private data, educational data or sensitive data, etc.
- Making efforts towards creating and implementing processes and procedures for data collection, storage, use and security.
- Also, making initiatives towards identifying ways to use data to drive enterprise objectives.
