Mission

The mission of the Nebraska Department of Education’s Office of Public Information and Communications is to support the successful execution and communication of the Department’s mission, vision and values. The Office of Public Information and Communications is responsible for assisting Department leadership, operations, and program staff in providing clear, consistent, and effective communication to all internal and external stakeholders related to Department programs, services, functions, and initiatives.

Goal

Through open communication, position Nebraska’s education system and the Nebraska Department of Education as the premiere administrative education entity in the country.

Objectives

Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of existing Department communication delivery methods

Identify and communicate the characteristics, impact and value of the Department

Aggressively pursue the correction of misinformation
