What happens if the Investigator finds sufficient evidence to support a violation of the standards?

The Investigator will complete a confidential Report with the recommendation to the Commissioner of Education who will review the findings. The Commissioner has five options. The first option is to request further investigation. The second is to dismiss the Complaint. The third is to file a Petition with the Professional Practices Commission if the Commissioner feels the findings are sufficiently serious to warrant a suspension or revocation of a teaching certificate. The fourth and fifth options are either to issue a reprimand or admonishment.
