Education Measurement Consulting Contract Approved
In order to create and implement the most efficient and best statewide assessment, Nebraska State Board of Education members voted to approve a contract with Education Measurement Consulting, LLC. The company will provide logistic support and consultation to the Nebraska Department of Education for ELPA21 in the spring of 2019 and NSCAS General and Alternate Mathematics assessments in the fall of 2019.

Easterseals Nebraska to Provide Programs for Students with Disabilities
Easterseals will conduct the Nebraska Empowered Youth Camp and the Inspiring ChangeMakers leadership training programs under a contract approved by state board members. These programs will be for students with disabilities enrolled in high school during the 2019-20 school year. The programs will provide career exploration and personal development opportunities for students with disabilities.
Summer Internship Programs Approved
ESU 16 will host two, four-week internship Summer Work Education and Employment Programs (SWEEP) for high school students with disabilities under a new contract approved by board members.
Adopt Recommendations for Strategic Vision and Direction
Board members voted to adopt a series of recommendations by an outside consultant to streamline and improve the board’s ten-year Strategic Vision and Direction. There are five recommendations including clarifying roles of the board, improving communication, identifying areas for revision, integrating board processes and committees, and implementing a monitoring system.

Friday, April 5, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the Nebraska State Office Building.
