The U.S. Department of Education today released the names of the 2017 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools, District Sustainability Awardees, and Postsecondary Sustainability Awardees. Chandler View Elementary and Omaha Northwest Magnet High School in Omaha were both named honorees.
SkillsUSA Nebraska, a Nebraska Department of Education career student organization, recently recognized award winners and elected new state officers during its 2017 State Leadership and Skills Conference in Grand Island. The event was hosted at the Heartland Events Center and Fonner Park.
More than 1,100 students from all areas of Nebraska will gather for the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America’s (FCCLA) State Leadership Conference held in Lincoln April 2-4. The conference will take place at the Pinnacle Bank Arena and hotels in and around the Haymarket area.
The Nebraska State Accountability (NeSA) assessments will have a different look this year. Beginning with the spring 2017 administration, NeSA-English Language Arts (ELA) will be replacing the NeSA-Writing and NeSA-Reading exams and will be taken in all grade levels three through eight.
