World Language Week Distinguished Scholar Award
The World Language Distinguished Scholar Award recognizes Nebraska high school students for their leadership in language learning, commitment to language study, appreciation for cultural diversity, and communicative competence.
There are two options for nominations. High schools may either:
- Nominate one student per language offered in the high school or
- Nominate one student per level (I/II, III/IV, V/AP/IB/Native Speakers) if there is only one language offered.
Nominations must be made by the student’s teacher using the online form that will be e-mailed to teachers in December.
Nominations are due February 22, 2019. Nominated students will be asked to complete a brief writing sample, a one-minute speaking sample, and an application as an “online portfolio”. World Language Distinguished Scholars will be announced during World Language Week March 31-April 6, 2019.
