Administrative Conditional Permit

A Conditional Administrative Permit is a temporary authorization to teach. A Conditional Administrative Permit is valid for up to one year from the date of issuance unless otherwise voided.

A Conditional Administrative Permit may be issued while the application for a certificate or permit is being processed by the Nebraska Department of Education if the Nebraska school system requests, and the Commissioner determines that the documents and information submitted by the applicant would allow for the issuance of a certificate or permit pending receipt of any additional documentation.

A Conditional Administrative Permit can also be issued while the Nebraska Department of Education is waiting for a criminal history check (based on fingerprints) to clear.

A Conditional Administrative Permit is void upon the issuance of a certificate or permit or upon final determination that the applicant does not meet the requirements for issuance of a certificate or permit.

Applicants should apply for the permit or certificate they are hoping to obtain.

A school district must request a conditional permit be issued for an applicant.  Information  on how to request a conditional permit  can be found on the NDE Bulletin website.

Conditional permits cannot be renewed.  Applicants must submit the deficient items listed on the conditional permit by the date of expiration in order to convert their permit back to the original permit or certificate type.
