Bonnie Noel

Bonnie Noel is a Mathematics Educator and Technology Coordinator at Deshler Public Schools. She enjoys reading, spending time with family, and exploring new ideas with her students. She has an array of educational experiences near and far: math, English, Spanish, computers, yearbook, health, and art, just to name a few. Her view of STEM prior to the conference was hands on manipulation of problem solving, creating, and architecture. Her STEM view changed while at the conference to a more all-inclusive approach. The presenters really emphasized how STEM was tied together and not split by subjects. The conference was a true EXPERIENCE and not just a conference. Bonnie created a Math Counts class that includes STEM projects and experiences from coding to origami to genius hour. In the technology part of STEM her students created digital breakouts which stimulated their critical thinking in creating clues to solve puzzles and open digital locks. Bonnie has presented on digital breakouts at the ESU5 Regional Technology Fair and has submitted a proposal for NETA 17.
