How do I know if a Complaint has been filed?
Complaints are confidential. The Certifications Investigations office is unable to confirm or deny whether a Complaint has been filed. Complaints remain confidential until either a Petition is filed with the Professional Practices Commission or a public reprimand is issued. The individual who filed a Complaint will receive notification that their Complaint was received and notified whether the Complaint will be investigated or dismissed. In addition, the educator who is the subject of the Complaint will also receive a copy of the Complaint.
