Course Description: An examination of various types of early childhood programs and the licensure requirements related to each, program planning and evaluation, and working with special needs children. Hands-on experience with young children is strongly recommended.

Standard 1
Examine the various types of early childhood program licensing requirements.

 

Standard 2
Analyze knowledge, skills and practices required for careers in early childhood education and services.

 

Standard 3
Analyze conditions that affect human growth and development from birth to age 8.

 

Standard 4
Demonstrate knowledge of curriculum and instruction to meet children’s developmental needs and interests by participating in a field study.

 

Standard 5
Develop an awareness of the diversity of children, including those with special needs.

 

Standard 6
Demonstrate ethics and professional expectations within the occupation.
