2017-2018 Parallel Year for Reporting Data to NSSRS and ADVISER

 

With the school year 2017-2018 being a parallel year for reporting data to NSSRS and ADVISER, we would like to remind our districts of the appropriate Helpdesk to contact for each system to ensure your questions are answered in a timely matter.

 

For questions regarding NSSRS data, please send in a Helpdesk Request from the NDE Portal or an email to:  nde.helpdesk@nebraska.gov.

 

For questions regarding ADVISER data, please send an email to:  adviserhelp@nebraskacloud.org.

2018 Annual District and PRT Special Education determinations for both IDEA Part B and Part C is now available on ILCD 3.0.  This year’s determinations for both Part B and Part C are available on the NDE Portal under Data Collections tab in the ILCD 3.0.   The Part B District Performance Report, Determination & Public Reporting document as well as the Part C PRT Performance Report, Public Reporting & Determinations document can be found on the Office of Special Education website:

Districts and Planning Region Teams receiving less than a “Meets Requirements” determination will be contacted by NDE Office of Special Education staff to discuss available technical assistance.

 

 

2017-2018 AQuESTT Evidence-Based Analysis (EBA)DUE DATE:  June 30

All public school systems are required to complete the 2017-2018 AQuESTT Evidence-Based Analysis (EBA) as part of the Annual Statistical Summary as directed by the Commissioner pursuant to Section 79-528(2). The EBA for both public districts and schools will be web-based, as it was in the 2016-2017 school year, and is currently available on the NDE Portal. The EBA is designed to provide information in support of AQuESTT classification processes, which will inform continuous improvement efforts. School administrators should work with school staff to complete and submit the EBA by June 30, 2018. Please review these instructions and FAQs regarding completion of the EBA through the Portal collection. Additionally, these short videos walk you through retrieving the AQuESTT EBA district activation code(s), or school activation code(s).

IDEA Maintenance of Fiscal Effort (MOE) Eligibility Standard for Special Education OPENED:  June 1 – CLOSE:  July 18

School district eligibility for receipt of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA Part B) funds are contingent upon maintaining fiscal effort from year to year. Districts are to report within this application estimated special education expenditures, receipts, and resident child counts to establish eligibility for the receipt IDEA Part B funds through the Grant Management system (GMS) during the 2018-2019 year.

Prekindergarten Intent to Operate Statement

Districts or Educational Service units intending to establish a prekindergarten program shall provide the Nebraska Department of Education, Office of Early Childhood written verification as described in Rule 11, 003.01 at least 60 days prior to beginning such program.  Please submit the required verification to Kristine Luebbe: kristine.luebbe@nebraska.gov.

 

 

New Superintendents – 2018-2019 School Year

If your district/system has a new Superintendent for the 2018-2019 School Year, please have them:

 

  1. Register for an NDE Portal account if they do not already have an account. If they already have an account with another district, this account can follow them to their new position.
  2. If they are needing to create an NDE Portal account, they will use the blue Register link on the left-hand side of the Home Page of the Portal and select their own Login ID & Password.
  3. Once the account has been created or to modify their current account, they will need to contact the NDE Helpdesk to get set up on the Portal as the new District Administrator for your district/system.

 

The exiting Superintendent/District Administrator will need to:

 

  1. Remove their access to the collections for the district they are leaving. This is done under the Edit/Remove link to the left of each collection they have access to in their Portal account.
  2. They will also need to remove the District Administrator activation code from their account under the “My Profile” Please contact the NDE Helpdesk if assistance is required for any of these steps.
