Supporting Young People Through Movement and Play Beyond the School Day

During this interactive three-hour training, presenters will demonstrate the valuable opportunity presented by physical activity before and after school and how it fits into a larger commitment to supporting movement and emotional wellbeing for young people.

Arbor Day Middle & Secondary Educator Workshop is for educators of children grades 4th through 12th, and is occurring April 13th from 6:30-8:00 PM via Zoom. Chrissy Land, NFS Western Nebraska Community Forester, will be a guest speaker at the workshop. During this workshop we will focus on PLT’s Teaching with iTree curriculum which is perfect for using with middle school and high school audiences alongside Arbor Day celebrations! These fun and easy-to-do activities are perfect to help children investigate neighborhood trees in their own yard, local parks, and local natural landscapes while completing lessons that meet the rigorous standards of today’s academic environment. Admission is *FREE*.

Each participant will be given:

  • a certificate for 1.5 in-service hours
  • a copy of the curricula
  • the background knowledge needed to implement these hands-on, heads-on activities in your classroom or program right away
  • Featured Curriculum: Project Learning Tree’s Teaching with iTree Curriculum

Arbor Day Early Childhood Educator Workshop is for educators of early childhood and early elementary students, and is occurring April 19th from 6:30-8:00 PM via Zoom. During this workshop we will focus on PLT’s Nature Activities for Families curriculum which is perfect for using with early childhood audiences alongside Arbor Day celebrations! These fun and easy-to-do activities are perfect for to help introduce children to nature in your own yard and local parks. Use PLT’s Nature Activities for Families to take children outdoors in ways that are safe, fun, and full of learning! Admission is *FREE*.

Each participant will be given:

  • a certificate for 1.5 in-service hours
  • a copy of the curricula
  • the background knowledge needed to implement these hands-on, heads-on activities in your classroom or program right away
  • Featured Curriculum: Project Learning Tree’s Nature Activities for Families Guide

WET Earth Day Educator Workshop is for educators of children grades preK through 12th, and is occurring April 14th and 21st from 6:30-8:00 PM via Zoom. There is no better time to splash into Project WET activities and get your hands wet with your students than springtime, especially in April for Earth Day! During this workshop we will focus on activities that are prefect for the spring season and can help you teach sustainability and conservation while celebrating Earth Day with your students!

Each participant will be given:

  • a certificate for 3 in-service hours
  • a copy of the curricula
  • the background knowledge needed to implement these hands-on, heads-on activities in your classroom or program right away
  • Featured Curriculum: Project WET’s Environmental Education Guide 2.0
