Training and Consultation

About Our Training

The Early Childhood Training Center links experts across the state with those programs or agencies who request training on a wide variety of topics related to early childhood and family development. Trainers are current practitioners with demonstrated expertise—teachers/caregivers, teacher educators, program administrators, health professionals, psychologists, social workers and therapists, who bring their skills and knowledge to local communities to share with those working directly with children and families. Training is developed and tailored to meet the needs of each audience.

  • Training provides for continual support for participants in the form of networking, peer mentoring, and consultation.
  • Training models connect pre-service and in-service to provide for career planning.
  • Training is a process grounded in developmentally appropriate and family-centered practice.
  • Training is continually being assessed and modified to build upon the strengths of the participants.
  • Training provides opportunities for interaction with children and families.

These Training Belief Guidelines were developed by the Professional Development Advisory Committee, February, 1993, for the Child Care and Early Childhood Education Coordinating Committee and the Early Childhood Training Center.

The Early Childhood Training Center offers training on a variety of topics and areas. Some of these training opportunities are further described on our Training Offered page.

All training is designed to support Nebraska's Framework for Early Childhood Professional Development.
