Important dates for Schools
Important Dates for School Year
July 1 - Start of New Program Year
July 15 - Annual Financial Statement for Non-public schools and Residential Child Care Institutions (RCCIs) must be completed online.
July 15 - Program Application updated for school sponsors and RCCIs claiming reimbursement in July.
July-August - Sponsors distribute Free/Reduced Application Packet to households
August 15 - Deadline for schools to update the "system" and "site" applications via the web-based reporting system for the 2012-13 school year.
30th School Day - Last date free/reduced approvals from previous school year can be honored.
October 1 - Date free/reduced applications must be counted for verification pool. Phase 1 of on-line Verification Summary completed. Verification begins.
October 15-19, 2012 - National School Lunch Week - School Lunch What's Cooking?
October 15 - Number of Health Inspections in 2010-11 recorded in on-line Site Entry Form.

November 15 - Verification must be completed.
December - Sponsors considering contracting with a Food Service Management for the next school year must contact Nutrition Services.
December 1 - Phase 3 of on-line Verification Procedures Questionnaire must be completed.
February 1 - Attachment I On-Site Reviews must be completed for each feeding site in districts with two or more feeding sites.
March 4-8, 2013 - National School Breakfast Week - Be a Star with School Breakfast
April - Mailing from Nutrition Services with includes Free/Reduced Application Packet, Direct Match Procedures, and Summer Training Information.
May 6-10, 2013 - School Nutrition Employee Appreciation Week
May 8, 2013 - Nebraska School Food Service Employee Appreciation Day
June 2 - 7, 2013 - NTENT - Nebraska Training and Education for Nutrition Teams - Introductory and Intermediate Steps
June - FSMC Contract addendum due to Nutrition Services for approval.
June 23-26, 2013 - Nebraska School Nutrition Association Annual Conference - South Sioux City
July 13-17, 2013 - School Nutrition Association National Conference - Kansas City, Missouri
June 30 - End of Program Year
